We can shape the stories that get told about our own lives and our own communities. In this roundtable discussion, four Charlottesville anti-racist activist academics will discuss their role in getting and shaping media coverage of the 2017 white supremacist attacks on Charlottesville, Virginia. Panelists will discuss how they used a variety of strategies from community organizing, construction of narrative, collaboration with reporters and journal-ists, and creation of their own original work to amplify efforts throughout Charlottesville in the fight against fascism and white supremacy.
