This Queer Brunch, learn more about opportunities with the USDA Forest Service! Meet some folx and grab some food for Queer Brunch. This biweekly program brings together LGBTQ+ folks from across Grounds to connect and build community. Everyone is welcome! Catering will include assorted pastries, fruit, salad, and coffee/tea.

Black Queer Film Night

Since it is Black History Month, it's important to consider intersectional identities within the Black community. Black queer studies and culture is a pivotal path when discussing or reflecting on the multi-layered histories of Black folx. The 2016 coming of age drama and Academy Award winning film "Moonlight" will be shown with a discussion after about the importance of the film as well as follow up steps if people are interested in continuing to study the visibility of black queer culture and art.

Pick up a free "Love Is" t-shirt in the LGBTQ Center between Feb. 10 and 14!

Wear your shirt on Feb. 14 and join us for a reception from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Multicultural Student Center (Newcomb 2nd floor).

We’ll meet on the Rotunda steps at 4 p.m. to take a group photo and sing the Good Old Song.

Fralin Exhibit Information

Inspired by the fiftieth anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, Otherwise seeks to visualize LGBTQ+ themes and histories as a way of valuing them. Art historian David Getsy defines the ‘otherwise’ as the “endless positions of apartness from which queer stances are posited.” The exhibition brings together work by over twenty-five modern and contemporary artists from The Fralin’s permanent collection to examine the influence LGBTQ+ culture has had and continues to have on artistic production from the early twentieth century to the present.
