Since it is Black History Month, it's important to consider intersectional identities within the Black community. Black queer studies and culture is a pivotal path when discussing or reflecting on the multi-layered histories of Black folx. The 2016 coming of age drama and Academy Award winning film "Moonlight" will be shown with a discussion after about the importance of the film as well as follow up steps if people are interested in continuing to study the visibility of black queer culture and art.
