Across the world, youth activists like Greta Thunberg are influencing the global conversation on climate change. In the United States, young people of color are at the forefront of the climate movement and are taking a stand on climate change and environmental justice. Come be inspired by today's youth leaders of color as they share their experiences and knowledge in an interactive panel discussion - featuring Irsa Hirsi, Co-Founder of US Youth Climate Strike, Vic Barrett with Juliana v. United States, and Kaylah Brathwaite with Zero Hour. Open to all ages, this event is free and includes a free plant based meal for attendees. Please RSVP as space is limited

4:00pm Pre-Event Youth Activism Fair (designed for K-12 students): We would like to invite K-12 students & their families to join us at the Carver Rec Center an hour early to explore pathways to involvement in sustainability and climate action. There will be stations around the room that offer poster-making, screen printing, career exploration, service opportunities, idea sharing for greening your school, and more. Stop by beginning at 4:00pm and visit as many stations as you’d like before the main event!

Hosted by UVA Sustainability, Charlottesville Youth Climate Strike, and City Schoolyard Garden.
