Jennifer Eberhardt, a social psychologist at Stanford University, will discuss her 2019 book "Biased: Uncovering the Hidden Prejudice That Shapes What We See, Think, and Do."

She is a 2014 MacArthur Genius Grant recipient, has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and was named one of Foreign Policy's 100 Leading Global Thinkers. 

She is co-founder and co-director of SPARQ (Social Psychological Answers to Real-World Questions), a Stanford Center that brings together researchers and practitioners to address significant social problems. 

From 1995-98, she taught at Yale University in the Departments of Psychology, and African and African American Studies. She joined the Stanford faculty in 1998, and is currently a professor in the Department of Psychology. 

Eberhardt's talk is part of the University's 2020 Community MLK Celebration. The event is open to the public; parking is available in D2 lots. Reception to follow.

Gregory H. Swanson Award Presentation

During the event, Dean Risa Goluboff will present the 2020 Gregory H. Swanson Award. Named after UVA and UVA Law's first black student, the award recognizes students who demonstrate a commitment to justice within the community.
