Catherine Spear currently serves as the University's TItle IX Coordinator. In that role, Ms. Spear is responsible for the University's overall compliance with Title IX in all of its programs and activities, including academics, employment, housing, athletics, and extracurricular activities. As part of this responsibility, she oversees the prompt and equitable resolution of all informal and formal complaints under the University's Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Other Forms of Interpersonal Violence policy. She also coordinates training, prevention, and outreach in this area.

Ms. Spear also serves as the Associate Vice President for the Office for Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights (EOCR). In that capacity, she is responsible for overseeing the University's prevention and compliance efforts with respect to all civil rights laws and the University's Non-Discrimination and Equal Opportunity Policy Statement with respect to University faculty, students, staff, and Medical Center team members.

The Deputy Title IX Coordinators support the University's response to Title IX complaints consistent with its Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Other Forms of Interpersonal Violence by investigating and/or supervising the investigation of complaints of sexual and gender-based harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, intimate partner violence, complicity, stalking, and retaliation. They play a key role in ensuring that such investigations are conducted in a prompt, equitable, and trauma-informed manner. The Deputy Title IX Coordinators also assist the Title IX Coordinator with training, education, and outreach in this area and in monitoring campus climate.

In her role as Executive Assistant, Ms. Mitchell is responsible for managing and providing executive level support including, but not limited to, preparing materials, compiling data, greeting visitors, and coordinating and implementing processes that support the overall work of the Title IX Coordinator while exercising discretion in handling confidential, sensitive, and timely information.

In her role as Title IX Investigator, Ms. Garson supports the University's response to Title IX complaints consistent with its Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Other Forms of Interpersonal Violence by conducting prompt, equitable, and trauma-informed investigations pursuant to the policy and related procedures.


EXTERNAL TITLE IX INVESTIGATORS

On an as needed basis, the University currently partners with highly-trained, experienced external Title IX Investigators who, in consultation with the Title IX Coordinator, conduct prompt, thorough, and trauma-informed investigations pursuant to the University's Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Other Forms of Interpersonal Violence and related procedures. These external investigators include: Maureen Holland, Esq., Catherine Berryman, Esq., Hamburg-Golden, P.C.; Christine Weschler-Rayer, Esq., Elliot Greenleaf; and Bridget Maricich, Esq., Seyfarth & Shaw, L.L.P..
